Re: Wood Floors in Your Kitchen
I put a solid maple hardwood floor in my kitchen/living area in 1996 and it has held up very well except where the dishwasher leaked. Everything in a 3 x 4 foot square warped. After about six months it flattened out on its own, mostly, and I simply pulled up the boards, cleaned them up and reinstalled them. This weekend the dishwasher crapped out, overfilled and flooded again, and would not shut off when the door was opened! Three months out of warranty! They are coming Wednesday to hose me (er fix it)! It was an Electrolux washer, top of the line at almost 2 grand. Next time Kenmore! Rant over.

What a nightmare Chris. This is why people put vinyl in their kitchens! I think we will roll the dice, hope for the best, and save some floorboards in case we need them.ChrisNeilan wrote:I put a solid maple hardwood floor in my kitchen/living area in 1996 and it has held up very well except where the dishwasher leaked.
