Then you 'select' it.

Then you copy it to the clipboard.

Then you paste it into your text.

Notice the 4 digit number following the 'U+'. There may be way to type that in.

Here it is - Alt u XXXX where xxxx is entered from the numeric keypad(in num lock).

Every font has it own map, some things like a-z, A-Z and numbers 0-9 and certain others are in a standard or fixed location for fonts that display characters. Once beyond that stuff starts getting odd and there is no one fixed location. In the case JPG showed it was in that location for the font he displayed. Another font will have it in another place or not at all.


Beyond that you get in to unicode and I'd have to look up how one does that because I haven't work on that sort of thing in years. The entry will be using the alt key and while holding it down you press the + key on the key pad which has to be set to number lock and then the code after which you let up the alt key......... You can try it at home like if you type 032 for the code you get a space.... 061 gives you an = sign, 069 gives you E..... The first 128 characters are easy and reasonably standard the rest well again it has been years since I worked on stuff like that.

Thanks Ed. I get it. You have jogged my memory about things I have forgotten. In MS Outlook if you have the new email window open and press Alt + you get a ribbon with all of those type of characters and also math symbols and equations.
