5/8". (what I had at the time)

FWIW, my half century old jointer has had it's straight legs replaced with the eccentric mounting tubes(legs).

I initially discounted the eccentric tubes, but have changed that perception since acquiring several SPTs with them. Also having more than one place to mount and use them reveals the utility in having the 'adjustable' offset.

I don't understand the bolt, jam nut, lock washer combination; seems like overkill. Was the nut put on because the bolt was too long? The lock washer is designed to lock the bolt in place; another alternative would be bolt, washer, and a drop of Loctite. Not bashing your setup just wondering why that specific choice?
