I just looked, ya I give it to ya, a blueish gray, I would not call it a blue blue though, maybe mine have patina ed a bit.

Like some old folks, they turn gray with age.





Actually the paint oxidizes.

And if I remember right, only men can be color blind, to many degrees. I for got to add that in my last post.

Well, I would not say BLUE but Skip's off the shelf color of choice is Krylon Industrial Tough Coat Blue/Grey #S01625. That is what I used on the ER restore I posted here. It is very close but who knows after 60 years.

Well, I would not say BLUE but Skip's off the shelf color of choice is Krylon Industrial Tough Coat Blue/Grey #S01625. That is what I used on the ER restore I posted here. It is very close but who knows after 60 years.

I have a 60+ year old recollection and it is blue(mostly). I bought an extension table mount and it had a non-faded area where the table mounts. Yep it was blue. Got paint matched to that.

Think dark blue short of navy blue. Had to add some red to the mix. Best matches are made in sunshine. HD mixologist probably thought I was nuts. Kept going outside with the 'sample' and compared it to the unfaded spot.

OK, I don't doubt you but we all see colors differently. I have 5 10ER's here (and one that is gone) and they all look like the same color, blue/grey. Do you think the 10ER I restored was the wrong color? Skip's '51 is almost factory new and is not blue. He did not paint it I don't think.

Well I don't have an ER so I will stay out of this, and try to concentrate on my Greenie. I think because it is a Greenie, even with the 500 motor, poly drive and 2 bearing quill, it should be obvious that it is a Greenie, but improved, so I think it will be 2 tone green like it originally was, but with the updates, maybe the lighter green should be special. Thoughts?

I have not seen Skip's in daylight.(or any other light)

I do not trust colors on a computer screen.(remember the dress???)

Yes it is not 'blue' blue, but predominantly a darker blue.

As for seeing colors differently I think individual historical memory affects our description of any color.
