Are your screws "snug" or "loose"? Both of my current t-slot extrusions are the same.reible wrote:FYI adjustable track picture

Re: RE: Re: Bandsaw Fence & Miter Gauge
The track is not loose. A screw every couple of inches and the track does not move or feel loose at all. The screws are not tightened down but a firm snug if you will. If you tighten too much I guess you could permanently deflect the track and get it too tight???? I just do it enough to get the wobble out of the bar but still have it slide smoothly. Good to wax and polish both parts.Skizzity wrote:Are your screws "snug" or "loose"? Both of my current t-slot extrusions are the same.reible wrote:FYI adjustable track picture

Re: Bandsaw Fence & Miter Gauge
Thank you, Ed. The track is truly adjustable. I can screw it down to the point that the miter gauge will not move. I can also tighten the screws only to the point where the side-to-side movement is gone. It is sort of a tricky balance but it works.reible wrote:FYI adjustable track picture

If this is a patented procedure, I wonder why Shopsmith does not advertise it. Too bad it is not a feature of all the miter track Shopsmith produces.

I haven't read it in a while and don't have time now but I think this is the correct one. I use to have copy of it but that was years ago and if I still do it is in a back up somewhere......
