Funny you should mention that. I happen to have a couple of -very- sturdy dairy carts (they're wood pallettes with industrial strength casters which are used for moving milk around in grocery stores). They can hold hundreds of pounds.

But wheels can't be -locked-.

I assume your casters had locking wheels?

For decades, I used a couple of furniture dolly like contraptions. Board and casters. Lift each end up onto them. Three casters(pivoting) each.

Depending on wheel diameter, may set the SS too high for comfort. A set of wedges would lock the wheels.

No, you put the SS on to move it and take it off to use it.

Open bottom dolly not a good idea, but that is the general adea.

The Shopsmith retractable casters are worth every penny they cost. My "shop" consists of a carport with a 10' x 2.5' lockable closet where I store the SS. If I couldn't move my SS around easily this would never work.
