Shopsmith Utility Light Mounting

Shopsmith Utility Light Mounting
I have a couple Shopsmith utility lights that I need to mount on headstocks.
I have a general idea of where it should be located. Don't want to mount in the T-track. If there was a template or instructions could I be enlightened.

These instructions say for the support bracket for the lathe shield but the support bracket is still the same as the utility light. Item # 555520 support bracket. Good luck.

'T-track' is $$$.
I do not have the 'official' light(I do not know if the goose neck is long enough), but I think I would mount it(the cheaper mounting bracket) to the belt cover.

Re: Shopsmith Utility Light Mounting
I had one previously that had it mounted on the headstock like this but hoping there were some measurements somewhere:
JPG on the belt cover would get it closer to the bandsaw. Skizzity thanks for the instructions at least I know what bit size to buy.
Edit: The Shopsmith picture with the light I posted was copied from a Google image search. Someone here may recognize it as their shop so thanks for that posting about the light also.

Re: Shopsmith Utility Light Mounting
The mounting directions that came with my lights do not include any templates or measurements. The mounting position shown in the picture is maybe slightly high and to the right of the drawings in the directions. The important thing is the 45 degree angle, so that the light works in horizontal and vertical modes. Also, make sure you are not drilling into anything behind the mounting location.

Thanks, Mike. Will try to mount one per your suggestion on the Shorty Greenie and the other headstock that powers the bandsaw I'll put it on the belt cover.
Re: Shopsmith Utility Light Mounting
There are no measurements in the mounting instructions. Just a general location on the head stock. There is nothing critical about the location. I have a separate light on my band saw since it is on a power stand.redleg wrote:Thanks, Mike. In your case I would mount the bracket in the same place on both head stocks and mount an extra bracket on the band saw. Then just move the light from the head stock to the band saw. Simple slip on/slip off. No tools needed and no compromise as to the position.

John the plot thickens. I couldn't get the pdf to open on my computer but it did on my phone. The first paragraph says consult the location chart on the back page for other tools. Do you have that also. Thanks Roger
