It is on you!!!Getting it mid next week and belt store is local.
Yes I will post accolades on you or the defuncto on your equation. Put up or hush up
BIG BAD BOB my bad cousin, does remember a few years ago when you need help/equation on a belt length for some thing, he still calls me for SS support since he cant post here, just lurks!!!!
29 ± .5
Thanks, that is what I was "thinking" but not doing any calculations.
Will update you on it when it happens, it will be next week, I have not received the pulley yet.

Greenie, Grayling, SS stand alone BS and BS SPT, jointer and belt sander, 3 Ers with Speed Changers. I think those 3 cover my ER needs, and space for them.
What a guy!!! I just got a call from Skip, on his way home from the Post Office, said, "its in the mail, he loves me, and it is just a cold sore". LOL!!!
JPG, I talked to him about your calculations, he said off the the top off his head, and experience 29".
He ships 2 day express, so I should get it Saturday, so Monday if all is smooth here to the belt supplier and set up and an up date. Too bad not Tachometer for actual speeds. Maybe Dusty or Reible would like to drive up for a day.

I took your '30 ± 1/2' and merely accommodated the fact that the top half of the pulley would be 1/2" closer. Two sides of the belt means it needs to be 1" shorter. No fancy 'calculations' required.
However I should have realized the top is only 1/4" closer.

The Post Person Rang Twice today. Skips stuff got here, nice, since no mail on Monday. I dont know if he painted up the pulley but it is one fine looking and balanced cast iron 5.5" pulley.
Of course his other ones are just as beautiful machined Aluminum.
Pics are getting much easier, I got that down pat.

I dont have a small weight scale, but the cast iron pulley must weigh about 4-5lbs, that will be some nice inertial. Like cast iron band saw wheels. In high school shop we had a 24-30" BS, I think a Walker Turner, all cast iron everything. No bogging that thing down!!!!
