I see a micro-fence that doesn't look like the festool one I have.... who makes it or is it a new festool item?

Re: Today in the Old Southern Woodshop
Today (well actually yesterday because I had internet issues last evening) was about building a face frame and some doors and panels.
The large multi panels (still on the bench) are always my favorite. Getting them all aligned and clamped before you have glue dripping off your elbows can really help you expand your vocabulary.

Mbcabinetmaker,
Thanks for posting this, always enjoy your threads.
What made you plane down to 5/4 rather than resaw? What kind of bite per pass were you able to take with your planer? I am always on the fence when it is more than 5/16" or so whether I will resaw or plane all the way to final thickness.

Its just easier to plane the heavy 8/4 rather than wrestle it through the band saw. The table on mine is rather high. I'll resaw smaller and lighter stock. It probably took 6 or more passes on the jointer to get a straight face so I was already down to about 1.5" on some of it. I take 1/16th per pass.

Re: Today in the Old Southern Woodshop
I came up with this vac hose-cord management system yesterday. I think I'll see if Festool wants to by the rights but I'll probably have to split it with the Ball Bungee Company.
