I laid my tape measure on the ground, marked a spot on the belt, and rolled it on the tape measure until I came back to my marked spot. The belt I ordered is the exact same size, and I ordered it as a 29.5"x1/2" belt. So, I measured correctly because the replacement belt is the identical size.

I ordered the "D&D PowerDrive A27.5/4L295 V Belt, A/4L, Rubber, 1/2" x 29.5" OC". However, any similar 29.5" x 1/2" belt should be the same.

Thank You!

A27.5 = 1/2width x 27.5 ID.
4L295 = 1/2width x 29.5 OD.

Forgive my persistence. This is contrary to my previous conclusion.

It has forced me to reevaluate the correct size of a Mark 5/V belt.

I now believe a Mark 5/V new belt is 25.5 to 26 inches od. I have looked at several used belts I have, and they fall within that range.

I also recently acquired a NOS 507490 belt. Had not measured it before tonight. 29.5" :rolleyes:

So I gotta agree with your conclusion.

Sheez now I gotta go back to the MVII reassembly thread and 'correct'. :cool:

I'm glad us Mark VII owners now have easy access to motor belts! I ordered three more replacements (for a total of four). Just in case for some reason the belt isn't available down the road. I'm guessing that won't be a problem, but for a little less than $5 a piece it's worth having a little peace of mind! I'll dress them and store them inside out, so they should have a long shelf life.

One more mystery of the Mark VII solved!

So who did you order from?

I'm not sure about the rules here, some forums don't want you listing store names. So, I'll just say that I ordered it online from a "South American" rainforest. :)

If you do an internet search for "D&D PowerDrive A27.5/4L295 V Belt, A/4L, Rubber, 1/2" x 29.5" OC" it'll be one of the first ones to come up.
