That is for sure Steve but you have to get the thick wall ones. The thin wall 10ER tubes are the same wall thickness as the MK V way tubes but I suspect they are a different tube (steel) than the MK V ones.
I have thick 10ER tubes on my MK 7 that started life as a new 510. I also have thick 10ER tubes on my MK V 520 dedicated drill press.
They do come up from time to time on eBay.

Send them to me. I'll use them. Even slightly bent tubes will work fine. The way the carriage and headstock glide on the tubes is not adversely effected.

Whoever did that should be tracked down and charged with Shopsmith cruelty.
Lol well they sold me a near mint 505 with handsaw for $350... That's punishment enough for them and bonus for me.
BTW I did just turn them facing down and works perfectly, can't really tell now. Cleaned and waxed everything and now it's in great condition. Only issue is that it's my 4th shopsmith in half of the third stall in my garage. Nearly impossible to move in there now. Makes me want to build another shopsmith cabinet for under it as well. But I think I may have to part with one of my shopsmith units for practicality.
Back on subject, the dents are facing down now, and no issues. Can't even tell they are there.
