10ER leg mounting question??

I'm slowly making progress on my machine. I got the legs out of storage and started looking at the layout of the legs and the baseplate to the bench. I assume that the carriage bolts used to mount the legs don't need to be countersunk? It looks like the heads could fit in the cavity of the baseplate.... If I have to counter sink them I'd like to do that before the though hole.

Weather radio is warning of thunderstorms so I've closed up shop for the day on the 10ER bench and am now trying to remember where I did with the casters..... I took them up north a few years ago to sandblast them but where did I put them when I got back??? You don't have to answer that one.

I also can't find the rods and motor mount.... maybe they are together. It's bad enough to have moved things around getting organized and moving things to our storage unit and then it has been a few years since I started this project none of which is making it any easier.

It might depend on which base plate you have. The later shorter base plate is fine. No need to recess. There are only two bolts under the base plate.

I also noticed that the legs have holes that match the base plate so they need to match or totally un-match to work right.

Can I assume using the base plate mounting hole are square so when I mount the base plate I can square to one side of the bench using those hole positions to square?

Not sure what you are talking about. The only hole that matches is the the hole in the center of the end plate. That is the bolt in the center with the larger washer. The other 4 bolts connect the legs to the planks.
