You are welcome. From your comments about the run out you think just like I do. One of the reasons some (a lot) of these machines run fine today is because Magna used quality bearings. Of course that was probably all that was available back then but that is another discussion.

To be honest, I don't care how the bearings "feel" in a 60/70 year old machine. I am going to replace them. Fortunately the original quality bearings are still available.

One thing that I have learned about myself is that if it ain't broke don't fix it. I sometimes make things worse when I don't leave well enough alone. For example, looking for less runout and ending up with more. :D Although I may very well order the bearings from A & W on Tuesday (Monday is Labor Day), I probably won't put them in until I need to.

You are very convincing. I just may have to come down there with the bearings, quill and drive sleeve, and you can show me how it's done. :D I'll bring the beer. :D
