Pro Fence adjustment

When I install the rip fence (power pro) on my saw table the two lever handles require much greater force to close them than should be necessary. I have looked at the user's manual that came with the upgrade to the pro fence system but it does not seem to contain any information on how to adjust the degree of force necessary to throw the levers into their closed and locked position. Can anyone on this forum tell me how to do this?

Before starting any adjustments I would try some lube. I use this stuff

I take a Popsicle stick and stick a small amount on both levers were the cam area is. Both sides too.

I do this maybe once a year when they get stiff. In fact it is need of it again soon. I wipe off the reminiscence off and apply fresh.

Other stuff would also work it is just that I found I like this stuff and it has worked great so I have not tried anything else.

If I'm right you will notice it right away, like half the pressure to lock it.

As Ed said it could be a lack of lubrication. However, if the lube does not fix it there are two nuts to adjust the tension. The first picture is the nut for the lower handle and the second picture is the nut for the upper handle. They should be adjusted so there is just a slight resistance when closing the handles. A Lack of lubrication will alter the resistance you feel so lube first and then adjust the nuts if needed.

I am sorry I have not tried out your suggestions until now. I have been busy with grandfather duties and other adventures which befall retired men. I tried the lube first and it worked like a charm. An unbelievable difference. Thanks to you both. I have some ripping to do tomorrow and I am sure that it will be much easier on both my machine and my psyche when I don't have to manhandle my ripfence to do it.

I ordered the Pro Fence upgrade for my 510. I got the video and the instructions but lost the instructions. Do I have to put the spacers in for it to fit right? Someone broke into my shop and stole a bunch of my equipment so I have been in a mess trying to put it all back together. Any help will be appreciated.

If you are talking about the spacers that go between the table and the new fence rails than yes they need to be there.
