Thanks.

As I restructure and supplement the original patent document for easier reading, I will address the 2 degree offset and a number of other items with more detail in my style of trying to explain what they said about what they patented / how it worked, then.

I will send James, John and Dusty preliminary copies of the document once I get it into a shape I think will help understanding. Each of them may have some things they want to see elaborated on or illustrated better.

As always, others will have valuable comment once they see it in a released form. No anticipated date yet, and I will not do the 'view work in process versions' in the forum for a number of reasons, chief among them that I am supplementing an original document written over 60 years ago, opposed to original work.

Like the original Buying a Used Shopsmith Revisited document that originally started this Odyssey in document restoration, or supplimentation, I will keep all the original text in Black, and add additional text in Blue or Red to differentiate it.

I am looking forward to the new document layout. Reading the text and then finding the associated drawings was a bit laborious.

I did a couple rough sketches in Sketchup to try to understand the angular discussion. I am still not sure I have it. Then I try to compare it to my two bandsaws, which work flawlessly (though noisey) and the doubt sets in. I have to fight with myself to not "fix" something "that is not broke".

The document I sent privately is a concept not a complete document. There will be additional copies of drawings embedded in the text to aid in visualizing what they are documenting in text.

This is especially true in the second half of the document which is clearly not finished.

Then and only then will I add my supplemental comments.

Thanks Dusty.
