Livin' the life in God's county LOL

Making lots of things. Finished a box for Laura's cookie press the other day. Experimenting with making cabinets using solid wood floating panels like plywood. Seems to be working great, lots of work, but that is why I have a Shopsmith(s) LOL.

How are thing with you. Petty cold over there I assume...

Yep, cold and windy. Supposed to get into the 60s in a few days. But, I've heard that before, too.
Working on a 48" long, coffee table "River Table". A huge live edge mesquite slab. Cut it down the middle and turned the live edges in towards each other. That irregular slot...10" wide in one spot... will get blue glass. Lots of cracks and voids in mesquite, to be filled with epoxy and turquoise. More fun. That's what it's all about, right.

I have seen a table like that. Stunning. A "waterfall" table is on my list. Slab horizontal then 90 degrees to the floor like a waterfall off a cliff.
Stay warm!

Where you getting your mesquite?

Mesquite comes from a place in Casa Grande. Between Phoenix and Tucson. He has pistachio and pecan, too.

Gene, it is pure craftsmanship!! What is amazing and awe inspiring to me, because I can’t even begin to do anything like it, is that you create from your imagination!! :D WOW

About an hour ago I poured vinegar on some 0000 steel wool to make the solution to ebonize some red oak.
Did you make your solution the same?
And did you use tea first?

When we get settled in the new house (one of these days in the future), I just might attempt to do something similar but for a Springfield M1 Garand.

Really, really nice work, Gene.
