Hello all and thanks in advance for any help and info. I have inherited my Dad’s Shopsmith and would like to get started cleaning it up/ setting it up without damaging either the machine or myself. I see loads of great information on this forum, starting with Newowner Information.
I believe mine is a model 10ER, but I am a little stumped by the 2 drive belts, upper and lower, which don’t look like the pictures I have seen. I am wondering which manuals and such to order, and how to get started.

"10E & 10ER MAGNA"
Under "PTWFE 10ER 1953" Folder you will find a fully restored copy of Power Tool Woodworking for Everyone 1953 based on the 10ER. 300+ pages
There is much else there, all free. The files are far too large to post here in the forums, and why they are posted externally.
The two drive belts you mention is likely the variable speed control mechanism.

Follow Everett's advice and you will be off to a great start. He has a lot of the early manuals for both the Model 10's and the Mark 5's available there, restored and free. If something is stumping you, post a picture of it here and we can help. Pictures may need to be resized smaller to post here. As for the belts, the Model 10ER used one or two belts depending on if it has a Speed Changer or not. No Speed Changer one "V" belt and with a Speed Changer two "V" belts.
