Back to an old project.... I was a little too lazy over the years keeping this chair outside. It's very heavy so I never move it, and I hadn't applied varnish since 2009. It was looking a lot worse than when I first made it.... all on the surface though; the 'mahogany' was holding up just fine.
As built initially:

Wife and I decided to color it "burgundy". Part of my motivation was to spray-paint rather than brush; too many parts on that thing!

An "October Postscript" for the Menards Mahogany lumber.
I had 2 Adirondacks... one made of Dumpster-Dive deck-Redwoods, and the one above made Menards "Mahogany".
The "Mahogany" didn't hold up in the long run, got to be a real hazard for mother-in-law. A little antique saw I keep in the car-trunk went through it like butter, getting ready for Trash Day!
