Here are motors side by side, but I must say that my machine is not original Shopsmith but rather long lost "asian cousin" with similar DNA.

Hopefully I will not get banned from this forum.

DVR motor is B14 metric flange with 19mm shaft.

Original DC motor have 16mm shaft and different flange mounting.

It will not be an easy replacement but it will be interesting project.

This is getting interesting, :cool:

We have had "Asian cousins" here before, that is not a problem. :cool:

However, I am sure this will generate a lot of interest, and is so far off the original topic (not that we don't frequently go off on tangents ;) ) that it would be better to start a new topic with it's own heading so it will be easy to find in the future, for reference. :)
