Your Mark 5 Greenie was made in May of 1958. Here is one I restored from about that same time period. It looked in worse shape than yours when I got it.

Russ
Thanks for the info.
The bottom two pipes are pited from rust. The rest looks fairly decent. I am hopefully going to get out in the open this weekend. Then I show you how bad it is. I will post a picture of the 10ER too. It is an exciting piece.

New to this forum as well.....

Hello everyone-
I just joined this forum and wow is there a lot of amazing information contained here. I own a very early 1954 Greenie Mark V (Serial # 273041) which I used extensively as a teen. I am about to turn 60 and have had this machine (sitting dormant) in my homes for the past several decades.

I have been in the process of completely restoring this wonderful machine and finally plan on using it. I'd love to share my experience and techniques if others feel it would be useful.

Spoonfactory,

Let me add my welcome also. We would love to see your restoration progress. We especially like to see pictures associated with it. As Ron suggested you should start your own thread to document this. Your Mark 5 Greenie was made in July of 1954 and during that time there were a number of changes made inside the Headstock. Pictures of these would be of interest to the forum members. Good luck on your restoration and if you have any questions feel free to ask. Lots of help can be found here.
