Router Crafter

Post by lalkie01 »

Has anyone converted or made a router crafter (like the Craftsman 720.25250) with their Shopsmith? I have seen some DIY ones on the net made of wood. It appears as if the Shopsmith table could be drug down the tubes with some type of hand driven screw with the router attached to the table. Just looking for ideas on how to mount the router above the table or make the shaft and attach it. Any ideas would be helpful. Larry

But used with a Shopsmith in the lathe setup.

I am looking at a jig to make tables legs from a square piece of wood by moving the router horizontally and rotating the leg to make it round then adding flutes or other designs. I have seen some diy plans and am looking for other ideas. Larry

I suppose you could use the table legs in the carriage for vertical adjustment (with the micro adjustable stop collars, seen below), and the carriage could slide along the way tubes as normal, and then build some sort of platform for the base of the router to set on.
