what's the spindle knob for?

You have 10 on the way? Did I read that right? If so, can I purchase one from you?

IF you do have the two bearing quill a new collar from SS should be correct. I am not aware of more than two versions.

Well I now see why thee are upset ("NA"). Checked the online parts stuff. Why on earth is it not available????

Now I am upset!! :(

I don’t know 🤷‍♂️ It’s like the only part they don’t sell. My guess is they outsource the quills and they come to them with the collar already installed. I plan on calling tomorrow to find out

Found a quill on eBay for 50. It has the collar. Really don’t want to spend $50 + shipping for a collar. Ugh

You’re not going to believe this! After all that and finally finding it, sanding down the spindle and the inside of the collar to finally get it to go on, I go to tighten down the set screw and you would think it was welded in place. Ruined 2 5/32 Allen wrenches and stripped out the set screw. I’m screwed!!!

At this point, I’m about ready to JB Weld or maybe super glue it in place. Grrrr
