Yuba Bandsaw Manual

Post by Majones1 »

Does anyone know where I can find a Yuba Model 630 Bandsaw manual, either paper or PDF version? I would like to find a manual from prior to the bushing or table changes.

Marc,

I have an original 1956 Bandsaw Manual which should be the same as the Yuba Manual except it says Magna Power Tool Corporation on it. It is not copied yet but I can do it and try to get you a PDF of it.

Russ,

Thank you, but hold off for now. I did some more searching and found another source for a similar Magna manual. I found a company called Ozark Tool Manuals & Books and they claim to have the Magna manual for $15 so I bought a copy. Hope to have it within a couple of days. You can see this in their online catalog at:

https://ozarktoolmanuals.com/machineman ... band-saws/

I checked them out a little bit and they look legitimate. Their site says they get old manuals, and then digitally clean up the copies (removing grease smudges, finger prints, punch holes, faded text) so we can have good clean shop copies to work from. I’ll let you know how it looks.

Marc,

He has been around for a long time selling restored Manuals. Everett has done the same thing as his time allows but makes them available to us for free. The one you linked to appears to be the same 1st edition of the Bandsaw Manual from 1956. I did copy the Manual and the PDF version is over 22 MB. The individual JPG pages are each under 2 MB. The cover page from mine is below. The back cover follows. The pages are not retouched.

Someday I would like to get all my old Manuals copied in both PDF and JPG.

Thank you for doing the scan. I’m sorry I didn’t post earlier today but I had to go out to a client and didn’t get back until lunchtime.

If there is a way to get your large PDF, I would be interested in comparing your original manual and their “reproduction”, which they say is not a copy.

At over 22 MB it might even be to large for email. It may take direct mail on a media disk to get it to you.

Marc,

Yesterday I found the Yuba Bandsaw Owner's Manual dated 1/60 in my collection. It is probably the same manual version that originally came with your Bandsaw unless it was made after 1963. All part numbers changed at the beginning of 1964. Having a parts list and diagram from 1964 or later, up to the change to the aluminum table would also be helpful in finding the current part numbers.

Russ,

I had little hope of actually seeing a Yuba manual. The best I was hoping for was the 1956 copy of the Magna. I would love to have the Yuba too. I don't know if you would trust me with the original copy of the Yuba, but I live near the San Diego State University and their library has several Book-eye Scanners which scan both pages of an open book and can create high quality PDF images of the entire book. The scan sizes vary depending on color and resolution settings. I could scan what ever I can get. Of course I would return the manuals to you, and would offer them to Everett for his archive of manuals.

I agree that it would be good to have a manual from after the 1964 part number change too.
