Mine is the logo of the consulting company, Twist Solutions, I started with my college roommate. That was 36 years ago.

I agree totally. SAC was my best time also. I loaded B-52's when we still had them on hard Nuclear alert. Very structured, very disciplined and no BS.

Well since this thread has been brought back, I'll add my explanation. Mine is, of course, the Logo/Serial Number Plate from a Model 10E and is the one from S/N 1077 which I restored. Being so small it is hard to tell anything other than it is a Model 10E or ER Logo/Serial Number Plate. I didn't include an avatar on my posts for some time after I joined. Since I enjoy restoring Shopsmith Tools using the original Logo Plate seemed like a logical one. Most of my restorations have been Model 10's although I work on any Shopsmith Tool or accessory. I guess I chose S/N 1077 since it was the oldest one I had done at the time. I could have chosen 10ER S/N R64000 which was my first restoration and one I still have but since the avatar is so small it would look the same anyway. Now I can't remember why I chose 1077 over R64000. Oh well at least I remember what a Shopsmith is.

I have no idea how you get an avatar image that is under 6 kb. I have a few .gif and .jpg candidates but the smallest one is 63 kb.
I think the 6kb limit must have been set back when a 286 was a fast PC.

Thanks Ron, I was unaware that avatar production was a thing. I looked it up and discovered that Paint could make a file small enough.

So now I too have an avatar on this forum. Under 6 kb. 1/2 hour of my life I will never get back. Need a microscope to see it.

Let's see who will be the first to figure out what it is.

Not sure what it is, but as the white part rotates a full revolution, the yellow part rotates 60°

My avatar is simply a Mark VII logo.

Glad you worked it out. I was going to show the steps I use, but I run linux on my desktop so the program and steps would probably not been applicable.

Looks to be a Geneva mechanism.

Yep, Geneva wheel and driver. Modeled in SolidWorks CAD.

Has nothing directly to do with Shopsmiths, but I lived with Geneva mechanisms in my machine design days and they hold memories. Geneva mechanisms are (were) in everything from watches to film cameras to big industrial machines. Stuff like America used to produce...

Used wherever a rotation/dwell cycle is required. Cycloidals and barrel cams accomplish this motion also. Now such motion is done with stepper motors, encoders and microprocessors.

Genevas are definitely a guy thing, just like Shopsmiths.
