Can I get a cracked table insert repaired?

A couple of years ago, I noticed the table insert for my 10ER had a crack in it.

Does anyone have any suggestion on how or where I can get it repaired?

I have to question if that is a crack. The line I see appears to be too straight to be a crack. Also, the machining marks don't match up on the two pieces. It appears that those were never one piece.

I have one that is broken completely in half near the middle like your crack in just the one side of the blade slot. Someone who can "weld" aluminum could fix it but do not allow the "weld" to get in the way of it sitting properly in the table opening. I haven't tried fixing my broken one yet. Another option would be finding a used replacement or a substitute insert. There is a seller on ebay (also a member here) who made replacement inserts out of aluminum plate stock that fit very well as an option. I don't know if he still has them available since I haven't noticed them for a while.

The one I have that is broken all the way across has straight lines like the one shown above. The "machining marks" are not normal and are likely some damage from not protecting the table/insert top. Possibly drilling with brad point bits.

To repair, I would try attaching an aluminum plate to the underside of the insert with JB Weld.
I did that to repair a broken speed changer and it has worked well.

Ron is correct and that is a link directly to his/HogWinslow website. He also sells through ebay. I have purchased a replacement plate from him for one of my restorations of a Model 10 along with purchasing other parts from him. Anyone needing the bronze bushing/bearings for a Model 10 Speed Changer he is the person to get them from.

As for repairing the cracked insert do remember that they are only supported from the ends so any repair must support the location of the repair. Fortunately for you it is only cracked on the one side.

Wouldnt the heat from brazing or welding warp it ? Harbor freight has aluminum welding rods that you use with a torch ?

Yes, the damage circled below was done when I was seven-hole punching stacks of paper to fill my Day Planner with non-proprietary paper stock.
