I thought that was a wagon vice.

I'm running out of scrap wood (aka, cutoffs) trying to figure out how to cut one of these.

If I only understood the angles and dangles of geometry, there is probably better ways to do it, but this is how I did it.

I started by making a cube as accurately as possible. the corners make the eight points of the star. Next draw from point to point on each side ( X ). Shade the space between the X lines. I shaded to reduce getting confused. Remove shaded section and repeat.
