Re: Bandsaw upgrade
The dust port upgrade was what I had on mine when I got it, and what I removed and replaced with the port shown in the first post in this thread
Greenie SN 362819 (upgraded to 520), Bandsaw 106878, Jointer SS16466, Speed Reducer 031391, Belt Sander SS48854

Re: Bandsaw upgrade
While I was disassembling my bandsaw, I played with the cast iron table that came with it. The Shopsmith Miter Gauge slides in, as long as I remove the washer for the T-Nut on the rest of the tables. Has anyone ever tried to mill a T-nut into the cast iron bandsaw table? Are there obvious reasons not to do it?

Re: Bandsaw upgrade
It is far easier to file two flats on the washer. Then the washer can be rotated to be used with either.(loosen screw, rotate, tighten screw)

Re: Bandsaw upgrade
Or upgrade to the aluminum table & fence (which is what I ultimately did)

clemensk,

I have a number of Miters with all the Shopsmith Tools I have so having those options makes it easy for myself. I have a dedicated one (with the washer and Safety Grip) for my primary Bandsaw that has the Aluminum Table. I have one for my Greenie Bandsaw with the Cast Iron Table to use (as described above) for a fence.

There have been other suggestions, but I offer this one. Get an older, without the washer, Miter for your Cast Iron Table that doesn't have the Safety Grip either if you use the Miter as a fence. That makes it readily available and an extension can be added for a longer and/or taller fence. If you are using it as a Miter and want the Grip, go with one of the other suggestions or you could buy a dedicated one for your Bandsaw. Miters come up for sale often and some for very reasonable prices. While I was disassembling my bandsaw, I played with the cast iron table that came with it. The Shopsmith Miter Gauge slides in, as long as I remove the washer for the T-Nut on the rest of the tables.

I have not and do not know of anyone who has tried it. It may be too much of a cut into the slot's lower sides.Has anyone ever tried to mill a T-nut into the cast iron bandsaw table? Are there obvious reasons not to do it?
