IMO, looks good. Extend out too far and they interfere with the spt mounting tubes.

Re: Dad's 1982 Shopsmith Mark V Repair/Restoration Project
The Headrest end is the adjusting point. With the Way Tubes seated in place and the Tie Bar in the Headrest the Bench Tubes can be adjusted to the proper position. There should be just a slight gap between the Tie Bar and where it sits in the Headrest. The distance between the Extension Table/SPT mounting holes should be the same front and back.
Some time ago Dusty did an in-depth look at aligning the Bench. I remember the thread but can't remember the title.
The importance of having the Bench frame properly aligned show up when changing the Extension Table from one end to the other (Base/Arm to Headrest) and having the Rip Fence still parallel to the blade.
Once the Bench is properly aligned and the Carriage and Headstock are mounted the Way Tubes can be rotated to adjust for the smoothest moving of the Headstock and Carriage on them.

Okay. Thanks, Russ. I'll give that a try and report back. Currently, there is about a 3/4" gap, looking from the top, between the Tie Bar and the Headrest they way I have it positioned now. It seems too large a gap to me. It barley covers the adjustment screw underneath.
Re: Dad's 1982 Shopsmith Mark V Repair/Restoration Project
Russ, I repositioned the way tubes in the Headrest to reposition the Tie Bar and Headrest about an 1/8" gap (as viewed from underneath. Which, in retrospect is the gap that you were probably referring to in your response. The Way Tubes were moved further into the Headrest by about 3/8". I took a couple of pictures which I'll post here shortly. Let me know how it looks to you.
I'll try to locate Dusty's thread about the bench alignment. I tried to find a reference for it earlier but all the links that I found were broken.

Russ, I found the thread where Dusty describes squaring the Bench Tubes in the Headrest and I took a few measurements. First, the lengths of each of the exposed Bench Tubes, from casting to casting, are identical, 47-63/64" .chapmanruss wrote: Fri Sep 13, 2024 1:44 pm The Headrest end is the adjusting point. The exposed lengths of the Bench Tubes inside the Headstock are also identical at 2 1/32".
Oh, I think I understand what you mean now about the distance between the Extension Tables holes now. I'll measure that too.
UPDATE: The distance between the holes are the same. (53-1/8" from inside edge to inside edge of the opposite holes and 54-3/8" from inside edge to outside edge of opposite holes).

This should get you to two pdfs compiled by lyall in 2016 of JPGs 2009 reassembly thread for the headstock and the carriage and base. I found them helpful. I haven’t found the stuff by Dusty but it’s somewhere in my totally disorganized bookmarks

Thanks, Larry. I'll certainly take a look and check my work with those documents. I appreciate it!
Re: Dad's 1982 Shopsmith Mark V Repair/Restoration Project
In my experience, it is also a good idea to make sure that the Headrest end accessory mount is perpendicular to the bench/way tubes with the headrest lock in the locked position. I use an angle cube for this, but a smart phone app or a level with a plumb vial will work fine. I mount the extension table and measure off of the legs. The Headrest to Bench Tube Clamp allows quite a few errors in addition to the correct position. Your machine is looking really good.

David, I'll try to look at that as well but can you give me some details about how you go about it? I'm not entirely clear how to do it.
