Just do NOT stick your finger(or anything else) into the hole while saw is running!:D

Hoses sometimes fall out(they go limp or something).(Maybe not enough suction).

I don't think the grid has anything to do with strength, the retrofit kit doesn't have any cover / grid & it works fine. Also, most other connectors on hoods are open. I think it's a safety issue, they'd probably close it completely if they could. Ultimate safety but I think air flow would suffer:D
