Flip Stop

Just finished a planter box. Needed a bunch of fairly short cuts in bunches of 4 or more(up to 16 of one size). Looked around for something to clamp to the fence to use as a spacer block to measure by. Saw one of my Flip Stops on the shelf and grabbed it. I hooked it onto the top of the 520 fence. After I set the magnetic steel rule correctly, I could move the stop over the steel rule to set the fence. Move it down to the blade to verify against a close tooth. Then set it about right for hitting the wood as I scooted it up the fence of the crosscut table. Just had to flip it up to do the ripping.

Forgive me for being dense but... ??????????????????????????! Maybe a picture or two would help my pea brain to understand what you said.

Hi Leonard,

Try looking here for the 505/510 (and some 500's) and here for the 520.

OK. Now I understand what a flip stop look likes but I'm with Leonard. Explain to me the ripping process that jimthej has going on..
