motor to on off switch
some time ago my on-off switch on my shopsmith 10 went bad and i disconnected it and connected a wire directly to the motor to plug into a 120 socket. it is working fine. now i have found a new switch and would like to connect the new switch to the motor for convenience. of course i have forgotton which wire goes where. i know two must go to a wire that plugs into the 110 for power and two must go to the switch to turn on the motor. can anyone direct me as to the correct hookup? thanks.

The green wire should be connected to the frame(outer shell) of the motor.
The white wire should be connected to one motor wire
The black wire should connect to one terminal on the switch
The other motor wire should also connect to the switch on a different terminal(of the same 'pole').
Make sure the 'new found' switch is rated for at least 15A 120V.

You probably twisted the power cord black and the dark motor wire together. These need to be routed to the switch. Both on the same side of the switch. The white power cord wire was probably twisted to the light colored wire on the motor. Just leave those as the are.
