Yup, that is it. Thirty six square miles where the wide awakes roost.

Thanks to the spam-masters, it's really difficult for legitimate sellers to do mass emails. Many Internet providers use blacklists and filter emails before you even get to see them, and you have no way to know it's happening.
The company I work for has done everthing imaginable to stay off of the blacklists and it still happens. We follow all the "rules" as does SS, of only sending emails to people that have given us their address, have the opt-out links on every email, and don't send emails to anyone that has used it, pay to be on "whitelists".
Emails still get blocked.

I know Shopsmith's policy has been hands-off of the forum, not using it to market to us, but I too would like to see them have a section on the forum for specials, and marketing campaigns.

They are going to miss out on a lot of people seeing it and possibly ordering it (like me) with that crazy time offer. It should at least go a day or two into the work week when some of their potential customers are in front of computers.Oh well.
Not to get false hopes up, but The Nice Lady that answers the phones told me that they can order up to seven days (or was it a week?) after the specials end date. I tried to order the sled but was to late. I believe it was not "policy" but they have to make sure of the count, manufacture's time and other variables. Found out there were 184 sleds ordered! She also mentioned that it will be on sale again some time. She doesn't know I am not a patient man!

It sounds like your company has integrity but many companies out there don't. Most opt-out lists become nothing more than a potential client address list that are sold or otherwise passed around.

If I may, why doesn't your company stop trying to do mass advertizing and spend that money improving search engines. I rarely if ever purchase from an ad. When I do have a need and want to buy something I often do a search. I get frustrated with existing search engines that produce more garbage hits than valid hits.

I think the economy has caused many people to stop impulse buying, so flashy ads and even cut rate prices aren't working. The trend and I hope it stays this way is where buyers are now beginning to research what they want and are making more informed purchases. Companies need to insure their website are easy to navigate, inform the customer and most of all answer the customers questions. Most of all the company must insure that Web search engines hit their websites.

Search engines only help people that know what they want.
Email campaigns help people that don't know they want it. ;)

Like I said create a desire. That is why I refuse to buy from companies that send me unwanted e-mail ads.

Anybody going high-tech on 10ER's?

Just by way of conversation... I don't look at the 10ER-dedicated sites so I don't know the answer. As a rule, do 10ER users stay "Old Stock" or do they use any modern upgrades [super carbide blades in an appropriate size, Incra miter gages, etc.]?

The 10E/Rs have a 'slight problem'. They have 3/4" miter slots/bars! So they gotta use the 'other brands'.:p

I ordered mine the first day it advertised - eight days ago. order Status shows it has not shipped yet.

Are they advertising stuff they don't have in stock?

It seems to me given the state of our economy if I wanted to market a new untried item, I would make a special offering and see how many orders arrived before I ordered a large inventory. In fact I have noticed that most suppliers are doing just that on new offerings. Just another sign of the times. Jim
