I took it to mean changing from the shopsmith blade to the NOW available amana blade from shopsmith. Ain't english wunnerful? So many ways to interpret it!dusty wrote:When I said it was time to change I was talking about getting a new blade and discarding the old. My mention of getting an Amana was a declaration that it was time to put in a Shopsmith order. Rereading what I wrote, I can definitely see that I did not communicate my thoughts.

Dusty several weeks ago I had a similar situation. My immediate solution was to switch from the original equipment shopsmith blade to the Amana. Wow what a blade. Later I cleaned the original blade which improved it's performance but not enough to warrant a switch back to using it. I will send it off to be sharpened one of these days. As I think about this statement, I doubt seriously I will ever have the original blade sharpened. I find the Amana blade so superior I will likely invest in another Amana blade rather than sharpen the old blade. Jim
