I don't know. Everyone just told me to get the 60 degree,
I see said the blindman, to his deaf wife, as he picked up his hammer and saw.

fjimp wrote: I should mention you will want to line the live center and the mandrel up by installing the mandrel into the headstock and then move the headstock and if necessary the quill to where the tail stock almost touches the end of the mandrel. Then line it up so there is no side or top/bottom tension in alignment. Good luck. Jim
You mentioned the tailstock. This is with the live center installed also. Correct?

Here's a pic of the mandrel mounted on the quill and a live-center on the tailstock. I am also using a morse taper extension between the live-center and the tailstock due to the fact that I have a lift assist kit on my MkV and that keep the carriage with the toolrest from sliding all the way to the right end of the tubes.

Mike I have acquired several live centers. Most appear to be 60 degrees. I do have a couple that are different. I didn't like them as the 60 degree seems to fit all of the mandrels I have. The cheapies do not. I rather suspect someone who's knowledge is greater than mine will have a more appropriate answer for you. Jim
