You mentioned the tailstock. This is with the live center installed also. Correct?

Here's a pic of the mandrel mounted on the quill and a live-center on the tailstock. I am also using a morse taper extension between the live-center and the tailstock due to the fact that I have a lift assist kit on my MkV and that keep the carriage with the toolrest from sliding all the way to the right end of the tubes.

Mike I have acquired several live centers. Most appear to be 60 degrees. I do have a couple that are different. I didn't like them as the 60 degree seems to fit all of the mandrels I have. The cheapies do not. I rather suspect someone who's knowledge is greater than mine will have a more appropriate answer for you. Jim
