Hi Bob,
I'm sure this has been a rough time. But perhaps many of us might be able to help if you need to get some money up front. I know I wouldn't mind putting down a deposit. For those of us who pay, perhaps you could provide us more information. Just a suggestion. Thanks,

Tony

I am one who keeps asking staff at Shopsmith when we will see the new headstock. Last week I was brought up to date regarding frustrations they have had in receiving the units for testing. Further that they have no desire to release them for sale until they are absolutely certain they are ready. I guess they don't want to pull a Toyota. Thank God Jim

I too would appreciate a fully field tested product. I would rather they take their time and release a product that will receive positive reviews and excellent acceptance. I can wait.

Sometimes can't help but think Shop Smith is giving us a carrot on a sting to keep us following along.

Anyway, I'm not getting any richer or younger for that fact.

So how do you think Shopsmith will "market the new product"? Seems to me the only way will be thorugh this forum or internet sales.. No real hands on..

It's just my opnion, but I believe SS should market and sell their "known" lineup of products before venturing into an "expensive new item" It could be one of SS's greatest mistakes and end up with lots of new style Headstocks with little or no market!

Hope that's not the case for the company and it doesn't turn out to be a white elephant..!

Positives and negatives to waiting......marketing is something best left to the people that know how. I thought I had seen something about the possibility of going back in woodworking stores? Don't know, but these guy's have been at it alot longer then I. As for me the new head stock,I think it is very promising.....but I'm still trying to digest all of my toy's of the last year.So I don't have any problems in waiting for awhile.(But I do have a headstock that I picked up DOA that would be prime for an upgrade)
