Headstock Cradle

Post by Lodgepole »

I just finished watching Nick's dvd, "Maintaining and Repairing the Shopsmith Mark V, Volume 2". This video is excellent! As always, Nick goes into depth about what you should have on hand and potential problems, before they happen.

Has anyone built the cradle that Nick uses to hold the Headstock during repairs?

Quite a while back, I printed off a cradle from this forum. This design is safely in my 3 ring notebook of ideas.

I definitely liked the design. But, Nick's looks a little more compact and easier to move around.

Thanks in advance for any comments and suggestions.

Headstock Cradle/Stand

Post by billmayo »

I made the following cradle/stand 7 years ago to hold the Shopsmith headstock. I also use the base arm to hold any SPT to work on and to test with a headstock mounted.
