No Projects from this shop for a while.
Today marks the beginning of an idle period in my shop. I will spend the day today at the hospital, doing lab work, xrays and EKG. Probably only a couple hours of real work but they told me to be there at 7:45AM and plan to spend the day.
Following that is the surgery. The bad news is that I have been told "limited activity" for two weeks and no lifting for another three. The "really bad news" is the SWMBO has declared that 'this time' there shall be no deviations from the rules.
When I had knee replacement surgery I developed an infection that has been attributed to 'post surgery activities' and she says "Not this time". I'm not exactly sure what she means but I think I am in for it.

Absolutely...
I see Dusty, that you must be back home for the day. Have they already done your "repairs" today? Or is that yet to come.
Tell your wife that we will all be keeping an eye on you about over doing it. You know, an extra $50 under the table to the doctor might get you at least an OK for some "very light" shop time.

Dusty,
Ouch surgery is bad enough. Being forced to follow the rules now that is real punishment. After my recent finger injury we had some rather pointed glares every time I accidentally wandered anywhere near the shop. Although the finger still isn't 100% my bride finally allows me to work on the projects she desires.
However there is one rule I suspect will never go away.
"Thou shalt not ever, even consider entering the shop or using any tool after the sun goes down!"
Get well soon good friend you are in my prayers. Jim

Dusty Like everyone else has said, good luck and a quick recovery. I know if nothing else you have us here and posting and discussing is the next best thing until you can get back into the shop. If nothing else let us know what you want to see or talk about and we will do it.
All the best and your prayers for a quick recovery.

Have A Speedy Recovery!!
Well wishes dusty. Six weeks will go by in a blink vs. the several months if you do something that extends your recovery time. Listen to SHMBO and your doctor. Good time to do planning (not planing....planning) and relaxing. No soap operas, no needle point.
Good time to master sketchup unless that violates your recovery plan.
