Now that shouldn't be too hard to figure out how to at least set it at the same angle as the main table.paulrussell wrote:Here is my idea for an outfeed table. Now I need to get it to tilt with the main table.

I don't have room for a lot of dedicated tools, so those that can do multiple duty are all the better.

A Tilting Outfeed Table that adjusts height along with the main table is very possible.

This is not my final version but that too is posted here on the forum somewhere.

Wow these are some great ideas.
I am planning to build a tool box that will store underneath my SS. My over complicated plan until earlier this week, was to build a scissor jack mechanism under the top, which could be elevated to the height of the table.
I saw the SS outfeed table and that peaked my interest, but now seeing some really cool home made options, I am sold on building my own. I just need to figure out how to attach to the SS table. I have the 520 fence system, so it is not a very direct way of hinging to the table. Dusty, I am very curious how you attached yours?

I think post#25 of the following thread shows what you are asking about. PM me if you have other questions or "search" outfeed/dusty/thread.boostfan wrote:Wow these are some great ideas.

Thanks Dusty, I read the entire thread. I like how you did the brackets, that looks like a great solution.
Now I have new questions
1. What size table did you finally settle on.
2. Does adding the extra weight adversely affect the crank on your table?

Absolutely agree, whether it be a roller stand, outfeed table, workbench, router table, sawhorse with box atop, whatever, as long as it was stable.dusty wrote:In my opinion, some sort of outfeed table is necessary to the safe operation of the table saw when ripping long stock (anything over three or four feet).
Every distraction while the blade is turning is potential trouble.

Outfeed Table
You might want to check EBay...Search for Outfeed Table, as
there is a kit, to make your own, that moves up & down, & attaches
to Shopsmith. The kit is available from LaGrande, Or. Pretty slick
