Jointer Quadrant Assembly 502651 - $38.32
This was maybe the best repair expenditure I have made in a long time. I have put this off believing that the small amount of distortion in shape just could not cause a problem. I was really wrong.
The fence now sits like it should on the table, is easy to unlock and move and then repositions itself exactly like it should.
I think, as I have been told here on the forum, that my problem was caused by cranking down too hard on the fence lock mechanism.

I sure hope the new one holds up. The new one is not as heavy as the the original one.

I suspect that my son got a little tired of listening to me telling him back when I got my new 510 back in 1988 that Godzilla was not a woodworker...

I did not equip with Shopsmiths in spite of the setups but because of them.
1 1988 - Mark V 510 (bought new), 4 Poly vee 1 1/8th HP Mark V's, Mark VII, 1 Mark V Mini, 1 Frankensmith, 1 10-ER, 1 Mark V Push-me-Pull-me Drillpress, SS bandsaw, belt sander, jointer, jigsaw, shaper attach, mortising attach, TS-3650 Rigid tablesaw, RAS, 6" long bed jointer, Foley/Belsaw Planer/molder/ripsaw, 1" sander, oscillating spindle/belt sander, Scroll saw, Woodmizer sawmill
