If ya did not catch it, ALL the drive train bearings are replaced - 2 bearing quill, main shaft, idler shaft, Motor! This leaves ya with a spare main shaft, idler shaft etc., and a quill. Unless ya gots another mk5 they be surplus.

I'd have to bet nope! Not yet! I called SS last week, talked with Linda. She confirmed my order was made the first day and when asked when shipment is expected, she said the third or fourth week of August.

I also noticed SS has made a $500 charge (as promised in their first ad) on my credit card. The rest will come when shipped, I suspect.

Did they tell you what year?:D Based on my current wait for a fence stop (March, 2010) I am going to have to get the expected delivery month and YEAR.]

WoW! Are you ever going to have to change some habits!

No more turning the speed to slow prior to shutoff.

No more turning the speed up to where you need it after turning it on.

No more taking a break while you wait for the motor to get up to speed after powering on.

No more shallow cuts since sufficient power makes deeper ones possible.

I am sure you can think of some more impending changes!:D

My last experience with bogging while cutting bevels in MDF put me over the edge. My blade was a SHARP rip blade, but the 3/4 hp just didn't like the MDF at all. I am looking forward to my "Star Trek" Shopsmith! Alec

I do not know, but I question using a RIP blade on mdf.

Any good opinions based on experience???

I made all the raised panels previous to the MDF one (small angled closet door) with pine - had best results with the rip blade - It didn't even dawn on me that the carbide tipped blade made more sense for MDF. DUH! I'm STILL getting the PowerPro though!
