Did you (re)connect the wires correctly on the switch?
Do you have a Volt-Ohmeter or some way to check continuity?
Your description implies no voltage being sent to the motor(wires, connectors, switch, cord, plug, receptacle(power/wall).
If light tapping removed a cup of sawdust, it probably needs to be blown out. Disassembly would make that much more easily done and much ,more effective.
If nothing causing non running condition can be identified externally, disassembly IS the next step.
