Can't find the serial number
I received a 1947 shopsmith from my wifes Aunt earlier this summer, all the parts were there, cleaned up nice, works great so I kinda bragged a little on the fact. The family went on a vacation to Texas for a few weeks and by the time I got back, somehow the magnetic properties of the old shopsmith drew in a younger sibling. Now I have what appears to be a basic model 500 from somewhere between 1964-1984 based on color. It has all its accessories works good, now that I've cleaned it up and lubed it. Problem is I cannot find the serial number anywhere and it looks like it has an odd table. The table looks like the ones in the photos of Mark VII's. Does anyone know where a "hidden" serial number might be? I don't need any parts but was wondering what I got.
Does it have a circular vent plate on the belt cover? That is the normal location for that vintage Mark V.moggymatt wrote:I received a 1947 shopsmith from my wifes Aunt earlier this summer, all the parts were there, cleaned up nice, works great so I kinda bragged a little on the fact. [/QUOTEumber]If there is no serial number having pictures will not answer the question. All you will be able to do is confirm that it is a vintage shopsmith with no apparent serial number. JPG, maybe you could post a picture to show where the serial number is not shown.
