'Cheap Mans' Wolverine Grinding Jig knock off

Mike. YOU NEED a JIG. :)
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders,molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.

He may not need the vari-grind or the long but-end rest, but that after market tool rest he's using's a Wolverine . Exactly like mine.

Here is my cheaper version or "I don't need no stinking jig". I didn't figure I needed a permanent jig as I don't sharpen my gouge every day. This a temp setup on my workbench. The grinder tool rest could have been left in the normal position and the grinder is not plugged in as these photos were to show the layout only.

Oh ya?? I don't need no stinking jig OR a grinder!!! I've developed a method to hang the chisel out my drivers door and drag the chisel on the road as I drive into work. :p
