Going to build a indoor clothes drying rack. The scissor kind that can be folded up and stored.
What kind of finish can be used for this. Will have damp clothes on it. Wife has one now that she bought. Looks like it is aspen wood for the frame and the dowels are whatever.
Problem is the dowels have turn a dark color from being damp. I read on another site that somebody used linseed oil.. Whatever the finish is it cant stain clothes........... thanks

How about polyurethane, shellac or lacquer?
SS 500(09/1980), DC3300, jointer, bandsaw, belt sander, Strip Sander, drum sanders,molder, dado, biscuit joiner, universal lathe tool rest, Oneway talon chuck, router bits & chucks and a De Walt 735 planer,a #5,#6, block planes. ALL in a 100 square foot shop.
