New to Shop Smith and a little help needed

Hi Everyone,I am a callmaker from South Carolina and have been in wood turning for several years now but just yesterday picked up this shop-smith.The guy has had it in a old barn since purchasing it in the 80's and says he has never used it other than initial setup,his wife confirmed that as well......He is a friend of my fathers and told me if I wanted it all I had to do was come pick it up to get it out of his way.So I went yesterday and picked it up...came with the jointer,belt-sander,band-saw,miter saw,and additional tools all for free.......my ? to you guys is what do I need to replace as far as belts and ect. to get his thing up and operating condition.......and how to lube this thing back up to tip-top shape......I noticed when I got it home I plugged it up and hit the switch and it stalled for a second the started turning,I stopped it let it sit then hit it again and the motor would turn but the main drive shaft would not,looks like the drive belt is not being caught by the idler sheeve correctly and I am wondering if this is due to the old belt being in the same position for such a long time. Also does anyone know what model or how I can find out what model this is as I am going to need it for parts.

It is a model 500. The vent plate on the left end of the headstock will have either a Serial Number or date code.

First, Don't turn the speed dial without the motor running.

FIRST order of business is to clean it up and lube it.The lack of oil is probably why it wood knot turn. Check out this sawdust session.

Here's the repair and replacement parts for your Model 500.

Here's the drive belt and poly-V belt.

Instructions for cleaning and inspection. Here's images of the holes in the shafts you want to make sure to lubricate.

Here's instructions on replacing the belts. Sounds like it just needs to be cleaned out and lubed up. Just use 3-in-1, Kroil, or turbine oil. Your bearings should be good, just listen to how well they turn once you get the headstock broken down. If it's been sitting in a barn, check the wiring for dry rotting.

Do yourself a favor and pick up a jug of Evaporust to soak your rusted drill chuck, lathe cup, etc. in. It will take it right off and you don't have to worry about bad fumes, etc.
