Guess I will have to take another peek.
Is that the once huge now seldom mentioned email list where some years ago I was emailed and told that my postings about "all of my old SS junk" were not welcome and were driving the "good" members away??
I had been to this forum a little but until I got broadband I did not like forums since they loaded so slow on my slow dial-up. I learned to put up with the slowness since this forum just kept getting better and better. With broadband speed is not usually a problem and I love having the pictures.
I wonder if there are any stats on who is reading and what?

Step up, speak up - if you got something to say - say it..
I can't speak for JPG but I was referencing the big old Yahoo group then owned by the infamous Dr. Mercedes... Er, uh, I mean Dr. Dave and his merry band of Junior Gestapo moderators, at least one of which he turned on and drove away too.
My old stuff was not up to his standards...
I started a list of my own (ssowners) and a number of disappointed members from the other list joined it (and it still exist) but that was about the time I started getting active here and I have neglected it badly. You may have noticed that I post here now and then...

Yahoo will do! Cannot say enough good things re WSC. SSUG is excellent for Model 10 users, but is no where near as 'active'.
Who pray tell is Dr. Dave? What have I been missing??????
Pessen: You be closer to 1/3 'my' age(and Dusty's). Do not let 'being in the minority' bother you. It just shows you're more discerning than most of your peer group!;)

Dr. Dave (White, I believe was his last name, a dentist IIRC) was the list owner there. I understand he has been gone a good while and may be deceased. He emailed me personally to complain about my uninteresting postings about "my old junk"... He had pretty much decided to make the list all about woodworking technique instead of about Shopsmiths themselves and was trying to force it that direction. I never heard from any of his moderators but guys I talked with off list did and some of their reproaches were really rude. Interestingly (or not ) the one moderator I knew of that he turned on was a really nice guy. I guess that is why he didn't fit in.
Now all ancient history, water under the bridge, over the falls, that boat has sailed, etc.
