I have lost a week this month just dealing with legal issues from "neighbors" infringing on our mini-farm over in the next county. It is 17 acres of river valley that runs along the edge of a small village and everybody seems to think that they are entitled to use / abuse it just because it is there. How dare I tell them that they cannot just go into the woods and cut wood... How thoughtless of me to not allow them to just take the edges of it into their yards just because "they want to". The complete audacity of me to call the sheriff on them for them cutting down my trees just because they block their view of the river... GRRRRRRR...
Yeah, I'm mad...
I have been battling people that would steal my trees, land and yes, even limestone slabs, there for 40 years.
Yeah, I'm the bad guy...

.
I know exactly what you mean. I had the same problem and their answer was "its the forest here so it belongs to everyone" I had someone cut himself a Christmas tree out of a 6 foot fresh planted spruce from the fall. Some people use my forest to throw their empty bottles of beer or empty soft drink cans.
One youngster, told me one day : " I have learned in school to respect the trees and the animals, his dog kept doing his business on my property, so I got mad and brought the results on his balcony. His father called the police on me. I told them to keep their dog leashed when outside, it is a law here in the municipality. Otherwise you have to build an enclosure to keep it from coming on my land. In the city, we were obligated to pick it up, he told me, but here it's the country, its natural ... natural till you walk or smell it and I do not have any dogs (allergic to it)
Talk about those that believe they can bring their music outside. When I am out, I want to be able to enjoy the birds' songs, the wind through the trees, the sound of the stream .... bang, someone is washing is car and he has his sound system on full blast on tech-no music with all the doors open ...What kind of people do that ?
If I want to listen to some music, I'll sit down in my living room with some music, but I would never imposed my experience on anybody else.
Same with those that put a young one on a VTT, going anywhere and everywhere and making so much noise ... I like the forest, he told me. His mother told me, well I cannot keep him attached to the house. He was trying to make himself a trail on my land and she thought it was ok, as long as she did not have to take care of him.
We have been here for 25 years now, and in the last few years it has been getting better. Around the summer holidays, I keep picking up empties
Sorry it got me started, but it amazes me of some people's education .... R - E - S - P - E - C - T , they have not learned it, so we have to show them.

Do you have a game camera to photo the offenders?

If it is that much of a stressor, have you thought of placing two or three infrared game cameras near the trails these trespassors use? Get some photos of the scheisters in the act of trespassing and/or stealing your belongings, then seek some legal action based upon the facts/data.

There may be some initial expense, but there is a good possibility you can
put and end to the pesky BS!

Growing up, my dad owned 13 acres of land with about half of it wooded on a creek. We consistantly had people come through pushing the woods during deer shotgun season and even had 3 or 4 tree stands put up that I can remember.

One year we had a man come back with 2x4s and nails and make himself a stand in a very old low lying tree. My dad found it that evening and left a note, took the hammer and box of nails, and said basically, please come by the house to retrieve your things and get permission to hunt. The next day, we went back to find a shattered stanley thermos and torn up note. Never did meet the guy who started to build the stand, but he permanently damaged the century tree. Sad when people think they can do anything they want on something they don't own.

I can tell that these are my private properties since they charge me so much in property taxes... Mt wife and I were married for about4 or 5 years before I grossed as much per year as they now charge me in property taxes per year...

Depends on the fish. According to the Dirty Jobs episode I just watched, farm raised Tilapia are pretty much poo eaters. They swim in the pool down from the trout that are grown and eat up most of the poo in the water. something like 70 percent of their diet is that murky water. Then they get some pellet food to finish the diet off. So I would say they would like a seafood diet vs a seepoo diet :D

Personal favorite is Norther Pike from the great lakes. That is some good fish, as long as you clean them right and get the Y bones out. mmm mmmm...

admitting you have a problem is the first step.

Hi I am a fish eater and I have Tilapia in my freezer
