Nice photo! Do you know where that's from?

As recently as 2007 I was working with a guy who wore his collar like that; a guy who looked just like Bruce Willis too.

To me, it sure looks like Loydd Bridges of Sea Hunt fame...

The title is "Mike Nelson and the ShopSmith Mark V" so Sea Hunt would seem to be correct. That show ended in '61 so it being a brownie probably isn't out of the question. Looks like it to me.

Shopsmith - early adapters of the all too common nowadays and getting pretty annoying practice of product placement?

Just FYI, I did a search for actors in IMDB (Internet Movie Database) and there was only one Mike Nelson listed. He happens to be the human commentator on the old Mystery Science Theatre 3000 series. Here's a pic of Mike Nelson.
