Standing(respect) failures are more serious(usually due to ignorance which ideally should be remedied). Problem is, by whom?
Doing now what once was a no-no indicates an acceptance of the new order. Being concerned about it indicates non-agreement with the new order. That be an individuals choice.
One's own 'standards' are the big things. One cannot act for others, only one's self.
